Why use ekmpowershop as your PayPal online shop?
ekmpowershop is a hosted online shop / ecommerce shopping cart system which means you have everything you need to create your own online shop and start selling on the internet.
You can use ekmpowershop alone as a PayPal online shop website in its own right, or alternatively you can link to an existing website. As you have full HTML design control your ekmpowershop online shop can be made to look exactly the same as your existing website so the transition between your existing website and your ekmpowershop online shop is transparent to your customers, see how some of our customers have done this.
You can also just use ekmpowershop as a pure PayPal shopping cart system which allows you to run your online shop on your own website and just use ekmpowershop as the shopping cart which will allow the customers to add items, delete items and buy the items.
ekmpowershop has been designed to be easy to use and feature packed. You can have your own online shop up and running in a matter of minutes even if you have limited computer knowledge or no previous experience.
How ekmpowershop works with PayPal
Your customers use ekmpowershop to browse, search and buy your products and then when your online store asks how they would like to pay they are given as many options as you wish, such as 'Pay by Telephone', 'Pay by Cheque' and of course 'Pay by Credit Card'. If they select to pay by credit card they are simply sent off to the PayPal secure server where PayPal takes all the details and once complete the customer is sent back to your ekmpowershop online shop to complete the order.

 Website Payments Standard
PayPal’s Website Payments Standard is an easy and secure way to receive
payments online. Buyers shop on your ekmpowershop shop, PayPal processes the payment and
the buyer returns to your website. Getting started is easy and can be completed in
a few minutes. Once set up, you can receive payments via multiple payment
options.
Setting up Website Payments Standard with your ekmpowershop is so simple!
Apply for a Website Payments Standard Business account at PayPal.
Next, log in to your ekmpowershop 'Your Account' Administration Area, go to Settings > Payment Processing and on this page you will then see the option to Add Payment Method. Click this button and then select PayPal Website Payments Standard.
Now you will need to add your PayPal Login ID (usually an email address) provided by PayPal to the 'PayPal Email Address' field.
Finally, click the 'Update' button at the bottom of the form and then your ekmpowershop shop is now ready to take payments using Website Payments Standard. Couldn't be easier if we tried!
 PayPal Express Checkout
When a customer selects to pay by credit card they are transfered to the PayPal Express Checkout secure server where PayPal Express Checkout takes all the details and once complete the customer is sent back to your ekmpowershop online shop to complete the order.
Setting up PayPal Express Checkout with your ekmpowershop couldn't be easier!
Apply for a PayPal Express Checkout Business account at PayPal. Once you have received your account details log in to your PayPal account and perform the following:
Click on the profile link in the menu bar
Click on API Access in the left hand column
Click on Grant API Permission in the left hand box
Enter 'PayPal_api1.ekmsystems.co.uk'
On the next screen you will need to tick:
Express_Checkout
Admin_API
Auth_Settle
Next, log in to your ekmpowershop 'Your Account' Administration Area, go to Settings > Payment Processing and on this page you will then see the option to Add Payment Method. Click this button and then select PayPal Express Checkout.
You will now be presented with the following options:
Email
Here, you will need to enter your registered PayPal email address.
Solution Type Sole
This will remove the need for the customer to create a PayPal account to pay with, although PayPal do not recommend you use this option so if in any doubt please consult PayPal support.
Test Mode
Do not use test mode unless instructed to by PayPal or EkmSystems support staff. This value will always default to Live Mode.
Debug Mode
This function will display potentially sensitive information to your customers. Do not use Debug mode unless instructed to by PayPal or EkmSystems support staff. This value will always default to Normal Mode.
Now click the Update button at the bottom of the form and then your ekmpowershop shop is now ready to take payments using PayPal Express Checkout. Simple!
 Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition)
Using Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition) gives your customers two methods to pay, they can pay using their PayPal account or pay with their credit card. All you need to do to get Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition) working is to signup via their website.
Setting up Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition) with your ekmpowershop
Apply for a Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition) Business account at PayPal. Once you have received your account details log in to the 'Your Account' administration section of your ekmpowershop. Once logged in, go to Settings > Payment Processing and on this page you will then see the option to Add Payment Method. Click this button and then select PayPal Pro.
You will now be presented with the following options:
User
Merchant Login
Partner
Password
All these details will be provided to you by PayPal.
You will also have two further options to set:
Transaction Type
This allows you to configure how your transactions are processed by PayPal.
Test Mode
Do not use test mode unless instructed to by PayPal or EkmSystems support staff. This value will always default to Live Mode.
Now click the Update button at the bottom of the form and your ekmpowershop shop is now ready to take payments using Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition). Simple!
Please Note: you cannot use both Website Payments Standard and Website Payments Pro (Payflow Edition). By selecting this option Website Payments Standard will be disabled.
