Changing your template

With ekmPowershop there are a number of pre-set templates which you can choose from. It is a very straight forward process to switch between the ones we have available. It is also possible to get the source code for the preset templates, so you can easily modify the html to suit your own custom needs.

Firstly, you must go into your design and layout section. The top section of this page shows your current template, as well as an image of the standard colour schemes. To modify the template you are using, click on change template”, and you will be presented with two options;

To use a preset template, simply click on “I wish to use a ekmPowershop template”, and you will be taken to a list of the preset templates that are available;

Now justselect the template that takes your fancy, and you will be taken to a confirm selection screen;

It is important to note that not all of the templates contain the same features and side areas. So for example, while one template may have 5 areas for promotional offers, another will only have 1 or 2.

When changing templates, be aware that if the new template you are selecting does not contain some of the side areas that your previous template had, then the side areas will be lost, and cannot be recovered. So, if you have entered any custom code into the side areas, make sure that you back the code up to a text document, so that you can quickly re-insert the code to the new template.

Also, any colours that you have specified for the template you already have will not carry across, as again, not all of the templates will use the same colour values, so make sure to backup all the colours that you have chosen if you want to keep your current colour scheme, but just go for a new look.

Once you are confident that you will not lose any important information, click on “Yes, apply the template”, and the new design is applied instantly.
