Transferring a domain name for use with your online shop

To transfer in an already existing domain name for use with your online shop follow the instructions below...

1. Change the name servers of your domain. You need to update your domains name servers to...
   
   

   	Name Server	IP Address (if required)
   Primary	ns1.ekmsystems.net	212.241.180.162
   Secondary	ns2.ekmsystems.net	87.106.71.66




2. Once the name servers have been updated you need contact your current domain registrar and tell them you wish to transfer out the domain. The instructions are as follows...
   
   For .co.uk and other .uk Domain Names
   To transfer in a .co.uk Domain Name over to us you need to get your current domain registrar to change the IPS tag to 'EKMSYSTEMS'.
   
   For .com & other Domain Names
   For .com, .net, .org domains you simply need to get in touch with your current domain registrar and inform them you wish to transfer out the domain to 'Ekm Systems Ltd' and that you want the domain 'unlocking' for transfer.
   
   Your domain registrar will contact you when the domain has been unlocked, once they do you need contact us and let us know that the domain is unlocked so we can request a transfer.




3. Once the transfer is in progress it will take around 24-48 hours before the transfer is complete. However you can still continue to upload your products, categories and configure your shops settings while you are waiting for the domain to become live.

PLEASE NOTE: Although transferring a domain name should take no longer than 24-48 hours it can take up to several weeks depending on how quick your old registrar is to action the transfer request.
