Migrating To The Image File Manager
The ekmPowershop offers a user-friendly file management facility for you to manage all your files such as images, CSS and .pdf documents. The ekmPowershop has recently been upgraded to include this file manager, so you may still be using the older method of uploading images directly via the category and product pages along with directly via the editable element you may be populating.
The File Manager allows you to upload images into a library first so you can select them from the server when populating an editable element such as the welcome area or spare page etc. You can also pre-populate the library so the images are already there when assigning images to categories and products. An added bonus of the file manager is that you can upload multiple images in one go using the Java applet.
Java is therefore required to be installed on your machine to take advantage of the Java applet, although you can use the simple uploader instead if you do not wish to install Java. The latest version of Java can be obtained from here.
To migrate your images over to the File Manager you simply need to log into your ekmPowershop and go into the Design & Layout area. At the bottom of the page, you will see a green expansion tab entitled "Migrate To New Image System":
Clicking this tab will show some information about the migration such as when it will happen and what you can expect. It is strongly advised you thoroughly read this information so you are aware of what is involved:

When you are ready to migrate the images, simply click the "Request Migration" link at the bottom of the page.
That's it! Your account will then be queued for migration after which you will be able to use the File Manager. More info on how to use this facility can be found here.
